Susan E. Rice served as domestic policy advisor to President Joe Biden. Previously, she was President Barack Obama's National Security Advisor and U.S. Permanent Representative to the United Nations and a member of the Cabinet. During the Clinton Administration, Rice was U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for African Affairs, as well as Special Assistant to the President and Senior Director for African Affairs, and Director for International Organizations and Peacekeeping at the National Security Council.An alumna of Stanford (History, '86), Susan Rice returned to campus during spring 2024 as the Bernard and Susan Liautaud Visiting Fellow at the Freeman Spogli Institute for International Studies, with simultaneous affiliations with the Institute’s Center for International Security and Cooperation (CISAC), the Center on Democracy, Development and Rule of Law (CDDRL), and the Cyber Policy Center (CPC), where she focused on the issue of governance of artificial intelligence.   If you like what you hear, you can g
