"Going to the Army!" is a podcast series featuring Salvation Army music. This 23rd monthly Episode is for Advent 2015 and continues the return of the "Going to the Army!" ministry - now in its 3rd season.This episode is a special - the theme, especially towards the end of the podcast, is to ADVENT. It features music by Staff Bands and the International Staff Songsters, soloists, Junior Singers, corps bands and brigades, massed items from the Royal Albert Hall and much more...but all pieces this month feature music composed and lyrics written by Major Joy Webb (OF).Joy Webb is, perhaps, still most famous as being a member of the 1960s pop group The Joystrings, a group of young Salvation Army officers (ministers) whose records hit the pop charts! Joy has written hundreds of songs, many of which are now an established part of the SA's repertoire and several of her tunes are also well known outside of SA circles (her Christmas Carol 'A Starry Night' is one of the most popular 10 carols in the UK according to a r
