Born in South Africa, Boushy played most of his junior career in the Ontario junior B division before being drafted and cut by the Saskatchewan Rush, then signed and cut by the Buffalo Bandits, then being signed again by the Calgary Roughnecks and having a fabulous start to the 2019 season before becoming the healthy scratch when Curtis Dickson returned to the lineup. He was then traded at the NLL trade deadline to Rochester for a fourth-round pick.
