Founder of Integrity insitu, a downhole geomechanical tool that can help constrain your regional and local stresses and strains in the rocks for many applications. His resilience is inspirational and the technology really got us thinking! Every rock on the planet is a record of time, the magic is figuring out what the strains were during the time of deposition AND what the current day stresses and strains are. Align these in your interpretation and you should be able to increase your probability of getting control of your frack heights, widths, and preferential directions. This is an essential data set to collect when developing and optimizing a field.

Recent master of Geology graduate Dylan Morton goes through his thesis on how he used them to better understand the Cottage Grove sands in Oklahoma. The show digs up all kinds of good geology and curiosity for many theses to come!

Synmax is a satellite mapping company to watch! Incredible insight on how it works and what these folks are doing with AI, machine learning and images of the Earth as we spin through space!

Lewis C. Kleinhans was making a trip to the West and reached out asking to swing by the Serpentosphere! His curiosity for the rocks is at a really high level, and we absolutely hit it off! We talked to him about his career and passion for rocks and helping veterans. We also dove into the subject of MagmaChem, where it started, and some of the basics of how we use the models to explore natural resources. Lew has a Ph. D out of the Colorado School of Mines, he is someone to reach out to if you’re in Colorado and want to get involved with the societies and what’s happening in the mining and metals world.

David Campbell has served 15 years in the military and holds a master’s degree in leadership studies with an emphasis as a leadership specialist. He came on the show to talk about his thesis, teach us a thing or two about leadership, and also talk about his commitment to the DEATH RACE!
