#013 Sheldon Walters - Crafting Personal Worth Beyond Money
17/05/2016 Duration: 01h01minSheldon Walters - Crafting Personal Worth Beyond Money My guest on the podcast today is Sheldon Walters. Sheldon began his career as an IT Engineer, but felt he was missing out on something by working in an office all day. Spending long hours working on abstract projects with no tangible outcomes, he developed a longing to do something hands-on. Unable to find a place that taught the skills he was looking to build, with the flexibility to do it at a time, place and pace that fitted into his life, he decided to do something about it. So together with a colleague and friend, Mike Simpson, they founded Splinter & Callous. Opening permanently in mid 2016, Splinter & Callous is a wood and metal workshop where people find their inner maker with expert guidance from master Craftsmen. It's a communal place where everyday people can learn real skills while building well-crafted things and connecting with others across a workbench. In contrast to the office environment many people find themselves

#012 Reflections - Conscious Transitions
26/04/2016 Duration: 11minThis week I reflect on the theme of conscious transitions. The topic of transitions came out of my conversation with last episode's guest, Andrew Newman.Transitions are an important part of our life and growth. They are the messy middle between where we are and where we want to be.It is easy to want to rush through them, but often there is much learning and growth to be done within those periods. Also, are we ever really not in some kind of transition? I explore the idea that in fact we may always be moving from one of kind of transition to the next in whatever way. WebsiteLinkedInInstagramGet in TouchWant to work with me in 2024? #010 Reflections - Creating Your Balance
31/03/2016 Duration: 10minThis week I reflect on an idea that came out of my conversation with Annie Carter of Eve Studio - that to create balance in our lives, sometimes we need to add something in.I go on to explore the idea that there may be no such thing as work/life balance and perhaps work/life integration is more realistic. Balance is different for all of us. Only we can know what to add or take a way to create contentment, fulfilment and joy. Adding something in however, will often be more appropriate than taking something away and can actually open up the space for more of what we want. #008 Reflections - Walking Away From Success That Doesn't Serve
17/03/2016 Duration: 12minThis podcast is a reflection on last week's episode with Jacqui Lewis. I explore two ideas Jacqui and I spoke about: 1. That we should be building our work around the life we want to live (and not the other way around). As we grow up we are always asked what do we want to be? What do we want to do? But we are rarely asked about the kind of life we want to live. Part of the Good Work Revolution is about asking ourself this question. We can't just do work for the sake of others and forget about ourselves. 2. That there are some kinds of success that actually do not serve us.It is easy to find ourselves on a path where we are experiencing success - but success defined by what and who? If we are to think about what we really want in life - is it really success? It can be incredibly difficult to walk away from the kinds of success society tells us we should strive for and reach for our own version of success. Both Jacquie's journey and my own have examples of both these points in them. I share some

#006 Reflections - Purpose Is Not Fixed: Explore The Possibilities
23/02/2016 Duration: 12minReflecting on last week's episode with Christian Duell, I dive into an idea we explored in our conversation on how our purpose is not fixed. It is something that can bend and change over time. I also look at the idea of using projects to explore your purpose: to approach the idea of finding your purpose as an experiment as opposed to a journey with an end point. Finally, I explore playing with and evolving your purpose as you grow as a person and chip away the parts of you that no longer serve you.WebsiteLinkedInInstagramGet in TouchWant to work with me in 2024?
