Instead of trying to do too much, Cody’s out there playing the game he loves, and it’s more than enough. With the Mets currently playing the Dodger’s, I’ve been able to witness greatness. While Bellinger is throwing runners out and hitting the laces off balls thrown by the games elite aces. Despite him playing against the team I love, I’d be silly to say I wasn’t watching with sheer fear & amazement

Loyalty is a foreign word in today’s NBA. So, it’s fitting that the man who defines this word plays in a different country. Toronto Raptors PG Kyle Lowry. They also knew Lowry was the catalyst for a championship run if surrounded by the right pieces. With the Raptors beating the Bucks in double OT last night. Milwaukee has a 2-1 lead in the ECF, with another road game in Jurassic Park on Tuesday. We have one man to thank for this showdown in the East, and he coaches in the Western Conference, Gregg Popovich. It’s only fitting that the best series is currently taking place in the East. Fought by two teams who play hard, and don’t show a lot of lip. All boiling down to the brilliance of Gregg Popovich.

Do you know what happens when you miss the cut? Unlike baseball, football, basketball or soccer, you don’t get paid. Talk about pressure.  If you fail, no ones around to pick you up, but when you win, the feeling must be insurmountable. The mental fortitude it takes to win a major is unlike anything else in sports. With the series headed back to clutch city, expect game 6 to be a gritty dogfight, and an offensive storm. The Beard and CP3 better perform at a level well beyond their norm, guarding the three. The Splash Brothers are back, with Steph reverting back to his form when he was the leagues MVP.

Once a pitcher is locked in, his teammates follow suit, especially on defense. The game of baseball becomes rhythmic. Both teams pick up their pace of play and the game moves with little disturbance. The margin for error is far less since a start can be for naught if one mistake is made. Baseball is an art form, where defense is meant to have a greater impact than offense. Instead of having 9 players in unison all focused on doing their part in securing an out. The lone player in the batter’s box dictates the pace of play and the eventual outcome. Once the batter takes over, the games slows down to a halt. Finally, homers are less exciting since they’re hit more frequently.

Instead of Kyrie Irving bringing out the best in others, he views their success as a threat to his playing time. Furthermore, Kyrie’s inability to commit to the Celtics long term has served as a major distraction. Finally, Irving has been hampered by a laundry list of injuries during his short career. Society praises athletes for their current contributions on the field. What about when their career’s end? Most players become an afterthought. How about Plaxico Burress? The former All-Pro New York Giant Wide Receiver who caught the winning Touchdown in Super Bowl 42, recently wrote a letter to the Upcoming NFL Draft class. He speaks with raw honesty, accountability & humility. I always hear retired guys who have been through something in their lives say things like, “I wouldn’t change a thing because it made me who I am today. ”But would I change anything? Hell yeah, I would. I wouldn’t have shot myself in the damn leg. I wouldn’t have even gone home to get my gun that night. I would have known the laws on carrying a gun in NYC. I would have been smarter.

Most NFL analysts lack originality. They love to hate specific players and they’re often wrong. Unless you’re a GM or a college scout, no one has any idea how to draft NFL talent. It makes me enamored with Dave G’s unconventional wit and gitty for him to get busy with today’s late round picks.
