Macquarie Sports Radio Weekend Afternoons With Clinton Maynard & Craig Willis

Belgian World Cup winning duo Thomas Pieters and Thomas Detrey joined Larry Canning, Clinton, and Sam to review their World Cup victory.

Author of Steve Smith's Men, a book about the ball tampering scandal that rocked Australian cricket earlier this year, Geoff Lemon joined Sam and Clinton on Weekend Afternoons to discuss his book, and the recent campaign to overturn the bans handed to Smith, David Warner, and Cam Bancroft. Lemon believed it was the right decision not to overturn the bans, saying it was strange that it was challenged in their first place. "There would've been a huge amount of backlash in terms of people seeing it as expediency and trying to let the national team win rather than doing what was right "It was strange thing to even challenge in the first place, the bans weren't contested when they were handed down. The players had the right to take it to a hearing and they chose not to do that.

Mike Gibbons joined Clinton and Sam for his weekly segment Gibbo's Gripe. On this week's agenda the AFL draft and if it's becoming too technical, and a plea from fans for TV commentators to tone it a down a little bit.

Softball Australia CEO David Pyrles joined Clinton and Sam on Weekend Afternoons to discuss the recently launched Summer Slam Softball Series. Pyrles ran through its concept, some of the rules, and how it will affect the sport. "It's a game changer in our sport". "We're going to have bases loaded from the start and we're only going to have three innings. It's a massive win for our sport". Pyrles also spoke about the growth of the game in Australia and the possibility of softball returning to the Olympics.

Chris Garry from Seven News Brisbane joined Clinton and Sam for his weekly Cane Toad Report. On this week's agenda we spoke about the possibility of Brisbane getting a second NRL team, the lengths Wayne Bennett is going to to avoid Chris and the rest of the media and whether Jack Bird has been eating much McDonalds as of late.

American golfer Brendan Steele joined Mark Allen and Sam Stove live at the Australian Open to talk about his performance at the event, his time in Australia, and his favourite club to play at.

Nine time PGA Tour winner Brandt Snedeker joined Mark Allen and Sam Stove live at the Australian Open. While Snedeker said he wished his form traveled to Australia, the American shared his thoughts on how to improve the Australian Open. "When you find the right date with the right sponsor, somebody that shares your vision for a championship all of a sudden the cards start falling into place.  There needs to be an Aussie swing, you need to have three or four tournaments in a row that are all high quality.. because it's so far to come for just one week". Snedeker finished T35 after four rounds.

Winner of the 1969 Macao Grand Prix Kevin Bartlett joined Clinton live to reminisce about that famous win 49 years ago. The Macao GP was the only Bartlett spoke highly about the city and about what it means to him but also talked about the dangers of the street circuit. "It's still got the same layout.. but the seawall was not there at that point, they stood there with frogman ready to pick you up [in case the cars ended up in the water]

Former Australian cricketer and President of Randwick-Petersham Cricket Club Mike Whitney joins Sam Stove and Clinton Maynard following David Warner and Steve Smith's clash
