San Ignacio (@sleepingnacho) is an argentinean musician, producer and DJ. During 2012 he released a compilation of travel recordings entitled Nadie pierde con paciencia and in 2015, after joining the Fertil Discos collective, an EP, Costa. His third release, Lo único que hay es el Amor, was published by Subklub Records, and last august Fertil Discos and Casa Caos (BR) co-produced Casiotone Rosa, a series of songs and collaborations based on Guimaraes Rosa's poetry, translated into deep cumbia and reggaeton sounds. This year he's published his latest album, Lugares Para Nadar (Fertil Discos, AR), and will be touring across Europe during the summer. He's collaborated and published tracks in several international compilations, including the ones of Frente Bolivarista (BR), Drossel (DE), Cassette Blog (MX) among others, and played in the most representative events of the new latin american electronic music scene (Sonido Tropico, Gruta, Fertilindo)

World music elements are playfully captured by deep bass sequences while the slightly out of focus backround vocals are framed by mildly percussive elements and wonderfully solid basic beats. Thomas was caught by the enchantment of music since the very beginning. Working as a graphic designer for 16 years, it felt natural to step into the world of sound design. Having a big affinity with tribal music, he combines organic sounds and rhythms to his productions, carrying the listener to places beyond their audio system. His sets start out nice and slow, and rise to intense levels, capturing the audience on a trip through carefully selected sounds and productions. Although not stuck to a specific genre, his style touches elements of deep, melodic, slow house and tribal. He produces different sounds for different occasions, mostly by himself, sometimes joining forces with other musicians. And with success: his first solo EP, titled Athinouk, is released on Tropical Twista Records in May 2016. More releases followed on Amsterdam based Phat Elephant Recordings and brand new label Whirling Wolf. His affinity with music led to him learning to play the trumpet, and drums at a young age, which quickly developed into an ardent interest for electronic music. At 18, after traveling extensively around, Asia, Europe and America. He established his promotion company called, Aphfunk. Which was responsible for numerous parties in the city of El Paso, Texas, and its border city, Ciudad Juarez, Mexico. In 2014 he moved to Los Angeles and started making his rounds at different clubs and bars such as Couture, where he played multiple times for the well known night on Hollywood, Clinic Wednesdays. Today's issue is devoted to the Colombian musical style - Cumbia. The name is derived from cumbé - translation from one of the African languages ​​the word "dance" Cumbia - pure style of folk music from the Colombian Atlantic coast.
