The Grasshopper Cup 2018 was a tremendous success, thanks to the efforts of Steve Buchli and his Grasshopper Cup organizing committee. Steve talks about the evolution of the Grasshopper Cup since its inception in 2012, the positive changes that defined this year's success and bigger and better things to come for the event down the road.

Sam Cornett is representing Canada at the Commonwealth Games in Queensland this week, playing her first match on Thursday against Guyana's Mary Fung a Fat and a potential 3rd round match against squash legend Nicol David. Sam has been knocking at the door of the world's top 20 for a few years now, and gave us some time on the podcast to discuss her preparations, her backstory, and her future.

3 time Colombian Open champion, Pan-Am Games gold medalist, former world #4 and current world #16, Miguel Rodriguez showed up in a big way on episode 017 of the In Squash Podcast. Miguel looked back at his formative years, his golden period from 2013-2015, an injury-riddled 2016-2017 campaign, his recent resurgence, and his passion for go-cart racing.

Laurens Anjema is the most highly decorated Dutch player of all time, and a former top 10 on the PSA tour. LJ gave us a great look back at his amazing career; at what it was like transitioning from junior prospect to world beater under the guidance of Neil Harvey in his Chingford camp. Retirement is never easy, nor was it easy for LJ as he took us through his stint in the corporate world and how that led him to his passion today, creative writing.

Jethro Binns is the co-founder of the squash coaching/training resource squashskills.com . He joined me on the podcast today and we looked back into his squash backstory including his psa career which was cut short sadly due to injury, and his evolution towards the coaching side of things.

Recently crowned British National Squash Champion Tesni Evans joined me today on the podcast on her off day at the Windy City Open. We battled through early tech issues, and it what well worth it. She's a great young talent with a fantastic story to tell. Not only that, she is the first from the Ladies PSA tour to join the podcast. Thanks Tesni, you were awesome.

Paul Coll is one of the bright stars on the PSA tour today. Fresh off final and semi-final performances in the Motor City Open and Swedish Open respectively, we had a great chat with Paul covering everything from his Tommy Berden, the Commonwealth Games, his rise as a pro, and his infamous training routines.

Steve Lawton is a living legend of Canadian squash. Former #2 in Canada and top 10 in the Canadian rankings for many years, Steve played the game like no other. He showed up in a big way for the podcast, and I'd like to make this a tribute episode for Steve as he plans to retire after over 20 years as the Head Squash Pro at the Vancouver Racquet Club (VRC).

Jamie Crombie's squash career is long and impressive, representing Canada at the junior and men's level, and reaching number 1 in both Canada and the USA. He's currently the head squash pro at the Buffalo Tennis and Squash Club, and a member of the US National Duathlon team. Always great to chat with Jamie. Enjoy the podcast.

Stephen Coppinger had a tremendous PSA career, spanning 11 years and collecting 10 psa titles along the way. Stephen dropped by the In Squash podcast and we chatted about pro career, his rise up the PSA rankings, hardcore training via the Durbach approach, and the devastating fire that took almost everything his family had last summer. Thankfully the Coppinger's are settled in Austin, Texas, and we talked about what lies ahead for him there as well.

Gregory Gaultier is the current world number one on pro squash's PSA tour. An incredible career dating back to the turn of the millennium, he's won just about every major title including the World Open and the British Open. Next, Greg is off to the Swedish Open and then to the lucrative Windy City Open. Great chat with the world number 1.

Robert Edwards, the voice of squash, has forgotten more about squash than I'll ever know. It was a great chat rich with anecdotes covering his days starting up the Leekes pro events and British open, managing the likes of Ahmed Barada, and playing golf with Jonathan Power to mend a few fences. Great stuff Robert.

Mike Way is the head squash coach for Harvard's men's and women's squash teams, and perhaps most famously known for having coached former world #1 and world champion Jonathan Power. We had a great chat which covered everything from spotting talent whilst recruiting, coaching theory and techniques, burnout, putting the myth of JPs training habits to rest, and much much more. The 2018 Linear Logistics Bankers Hall Pro-Am PSA squash tournament kicks off today in Calgary, Alberta, and today I had a great chat with an old friend, Bob Ballinger, head squash pro at the Bankers Hall Club. The event is in its 17th year, hometown boy Andrew Schnell is defending the title, and there's the possibility of an all-Canadian final. I've picked a dark horse to win it all though. Ron Beck, a former member of Princeton's varsity squash team, WPSA tour player, executive director of the College Squash Association, is famously prolific for giving us the Squashtalk website. Ron and I talked about his squash mentor, Arif Sarfraz, "one of the greatest players that no one knew about", the success of the WPSA tour, and of course Squashtalk and the faces behind it. It was indeed a great chat and I hope to have him back again soon.

Neil Harvey is a legend of the game of squash, and he graced In Squash with a fantastic chat that covered his early days on tour where he beat just about everyone except a certain player at the top of the table, his transition into coaching where he famously guided Peter Nicol to world number 1. We also discussed his charity work which ultimately brought him across the pond to Nova Scotia, Canada and away from his full-time coaching duties on the PSA tour.
