The nation was stunned by the killings and President Barack Obama said he was “heartbroken”. The gunman was a former reporter for the TV station who killed himself hours later following a car chase with police. On the day of his daughter’s death, while his emotions were still raw, Andy Parker vowed on national television to do “whatever it takes” to end gun violence in America.
