Maryland officially launched adult-use Cannabis sales on July 1, 2023! Meanwhile, a separate law also took effect on July 1 that prevents police from using the odor or possession of Cannabis alone as the basis of a search. Yet another law going into effect makes it so the lawful and responsible use of Cannabis by parents and guardians cannot be construed by state officials as child “neglect.” What else do you need to know as a consumer? Adult-use Cannabis is not legal in Texas. In 2015, the Texas Compassionate Use Act legalized high-CBD (at least 10%) and low-THC (no more than 0.5%) oil for epilepsy patients. In 2019, the law expanded to add several more conditions, but it is still extremely limited. This is the first of many discussions with Shane Saum.
