Today we're talking to one of my absolute favorite artists and good friend, Danny Simmons! He shares how he went from a being a social worker to owning a full-on art empire and how you can too. So many gems in this episode!  Daniel “Danny” Simmons, Jr. is an abstract-expressionist painter. Older brother of hip-hop impresario Russell Simmons and rapper Joseph Simmons (“Rev. In addition, Simmons converted part of his loft in Brooklyn into the Corridor Gallery. Jeffrey's journey was much like every other creative person who goes into business. He was good at photography. Family and friends praised him. He received acknowledgement and accolades. So he decided, or it was suggested that he was talented enough to make money at it. Maybe even a “living”. So he ended up in business–talented with no idea how to be in business. But he figured it out. The turning point was when he realized that he should trust his gut. The same instinct he had to create an image could be trusted to guide his way in business. Even though it looked entirely different than the way other businesses worked. Fast forward a couple of decades and because of a great experience he had with a business coach, he decided to become a coach and enrolled in an intensive training program. Within a few short years he had a successful coaching practice that was quadruple the national average for the trade. It was then his service to others became obvious. That he should help others do what came relatively easy
