URBS - Imagine le futur de la ville Intelligentes, connectées, collaboratives, écologiques ou créatives, les villes sont aussi des espaces politiques aux enjeux culturels, économiques, esthétiques, technologiques et sociaux en pleine mutation. Notre conviction est que ce futur doit être discuté, partagé, imaginé et créé par une large communauté de citoyens impliqués dans la construction de l’avenir. Ouvert par le grand architecte Rudy Ricciotti, le cycle URBS a pour ambition de mettre en lumière des initiatives remarquables, des projets innovants et des visions originales qui visent à transformer profondément les approches et les usages que nous faisons des villes en France, en Europe et dans le monde. Au cours du cycle nous inviterons des personnalités internationales à exposer et confronter leurs visions de la ville de demain, en croisant les disciplines, les savoirs, les expériences et les géographies. In Europe, major festivals came about in the 70s and 80s, with the explosion of rock culture. In the late 90s and early 2000s, the emergence of the techno wave and the electronic revolution gave rise to a new generation of festivals – in the crowd at Sonar in Barcelona, more urban, connected and international events started to appear. In the mid 2010s, a third generation seems to have appeared, which does not correspond to a new aesthetic revolution, but rather brings a totally new perspective to festivals. What are their values? Lynd Professor of Sociology at Colum- bia University and Co-Chairs The Committee on Global Thought. She is an internationally known for her analyses in fields such as the social, eco- nomic and political dimensions of globalization and urban sociology. One of her greatest scientific contributions was the concept of 'Global City' de- veloped in her book named as such. Saskia Sassen is also an active member of the National Academy of Sciences Panel on Cities and the Council on Foreign Relations. She has received diverse awards and was being chosen as one of the Top 100 Global Leaders by the Foreign Policy magazine.
