Episode 21: The bird feeder wars
11/01/2009The barns boys next door have definitely thrown down the gauntlet in the bird feeder wars. The boat winch was a nice touch but they have to get past the whole “fix the rope” thing and move up to steel cable.

Episode 20: They paved the road after painting the lines?
11/01/2009Of course we should have voted the municipal road crews as the turkey of the day for paving the road 2 weeks after painting new lines. I guess that was so they would get the paver down the centre of the road instead of driving it through the woods or something. Luckily we only worry about gravel and grading on our part of the private road

Episode 19: Log splitters! Man or machine?
28/12/2008Bruce and Cliff talk about log splitters. Everything from high tech gasoline hydraulic, to low powered electric, and manual. Including Bruce’s right hand. In the end they decide to stick with the splitting maul. At least until they can convince the neighbor to let them use his new toy.

28/11/2008We help a neighbor re-assemble a sofa bed. Then we drink our way down the cottage road. Cliff breaks from tradition and goes for garden art instead of firewood when they see the boys next door have two axes stuck in a big log, but he soon gets over it.

28/11/2008Tired of hauling large flimsy shutters from behind the Bunkie in the fall and back in the spring, Cliff makes and installs new shutters for the screen porch. He also power washes the deck.

28/11/2008Bruce and Cliff work on fixing the side view mirror that Bruce sheared off. They also think they have finally come up with a way to monetize this podcasting thing.
