To her terror, she quickly discovered her only options were baggy safari gear, zip-off pants, and floppy hats (thanks, but no thanks). On a mission to create clothing that would not only protect her skin but also be stylish enough that she would actually want to leave her house, she sought out to create her own clothing line. 13/09/2016 Duration: 48minWe all have insecurities. Usually, it’s easier to hide behind them and pretend they don’t exist. But what if we decided to face them head on? For years, this week’s guest struggled with unrealistic body standards. As a dancer in New York, Jenny Gaither felt extreme cultural pressure to look a certain way and fit a certain dress size. 034: From Knocked Down to Knockout with Lynn Le of Society Nine
30/08/2016 Duration: 49minThis week's guest is kicking some serious butt - literally and figuratively. You see before Lynn Le came along, women boxers all over the world were trying to fit into a man's world. Too often they would use men's gloves that were much too large or children's gloves that were much too small (a modern boxing Goldilocks dilemma if you will). All that changed when Lynn founded Society Nine, a company on a mission to make the best boxing and MMA gear designed specifically for women in mind. I was initially drawn to Lynn because Society Nine's gloves are so badass. What I quickly realized as I began talking to her though, is that while her gloves and gear are incredible, it's her drive, passion, and grit that makes this company a serious knockout. You feel exposed when walking into a shop filled with phallic accessories, and wonder what the heck you are doing there.
