Laura and Jim discuss the evidence Andrea claims to support her position that Beate abused Maya. #460: Long Island Serial Killings | Part 3
17/08/2023 Duration: 39minThere is so much more to discuss about the Long Island Serial Killings and the evidence against the suspect who is in custody for the murders of Amber Costello, Megan Waterman and Melissa Barthelemy. In addition to the victims who were brutally murdered, there are other victims in the orbit of this case, if indeed Rex Heuermann is the killer. Asa Ellerup was married to Heuermann for 27 years. She has since filed for divorce but she and their two children are also caught up in his crime and their world has changed forever. Lisa asks Jim and Laura their expert opinions on where they think these victims were actually murdered, if they think the killer used an alternate private location before disposing of their bodies on and around Gilgo Beach Long Island. Laura probes the timelines and wonders if there are other victims far earlier than anyone knows, drawing from learning from other cases including serial killer Dennis Rader.Listen to Laura's Crime Analyst interview with Kerri Rawson, Dennis Rader's daught

#452: Bill Cosby Update with Nicki Weisensee Egan | Part 1
06/07/2023 Duration: 27minIn this episode, we interview award-winning investigative journalist turned author Nicki Weisensee Egan about the latest updates regarding Bill Cosby, including six women who have filed civil suits against Cosby in New York City, one woman filed in New Jersey, another in California and a further nine women in Nevada. Nicki wrote the book 'Chasing Cosby' and hosted the podcast of the same name.To be clear, in 2018 Bill Cosby was found guilty in a criminal court of law for drugging and sexually assaulting Andrea Constand at his home (three felony counts of aggravated indecent assault). He was sentenced to three to ten years. However, he was released after serving only two years in 2021. He was not exonerated. He was never acquitted. His release had everything to do with a bizarre pre-trial procedural interpretation that his lawyers were able to convince a Pennsylvania Supreme Court to agree with, something Jim weighs in on. Cosby’s PR team and attorneys constantly try to spin the narrative on this.&nb

#451: Stop the Release of Serial Killer Colin Pitchfork
28/06/2023 Duration: 49minWe have an urgent episode today about a case listeners particularly in the U.K. need to be aware. Serial Child Murderer and rapist Colin Pitchfork — who raped and murdered two 15 year old girls, Lynda Mann in 1983 and Dawn Ashworth in 1986 in Leicestershire - is about to be released from prison into the community unless Ministers take action. In our opinion as experts, we strongly believe that it's not possible for psychopath Colin Pitchfork to be rehabilitated and we explain why in this episode. The Parole Board has shown a shocking lack of understanding of psychopaths (which Pitchfork has been diagnosed) in allowing this 63 year old man his freedom. Would you believe that he was granted parole in 2021 but had to be re-locked up because he had immediately violated the terms? Why is he getting another chance? Laura lays out the glaring red flags and her fears about what cunning strategies Pitchfork may be planning in order to offend again. Jim weighs in on the layers of psychopathy that Pitchfork appears to po

21/06/2023 Duration: 48minLaura and Jim interview State Senator Susan Rubio of California who is a fierce advocate for victims of domestic violence, and a champion for children and families who have been left behind by the family court system. She also talks about her own first hand personal experience as a survivor of domestic violence and coercive control. Senator Rubio is responsible for authoring “Piqui’s Law” SB 616 named after a five year little old boy, who was smothered to death by his own father, Aramazd Andressian, in 2017 to get back at his estranged ex-wife. Piqui’s mother, Ana Estevez had begged the courts to protect her and her child, saying her son “was terrified” of his father, but without any physical evidence of abuse, Aramazd was allowed access. “Piqui’s Law”, as well as several others Senator Rubio has put forth, will help change this and protect victims when they are most vulnerable. Do not miss this crucial episode about some of the horrific things going on in family court. Ple

09/06/2023 Duration: 42minDo you know what the “Reid” technique is or why it is so controversial? 31/05/2023 Duration: 49minWhat’s next for Erik and Lyle Mendez who have so far served 33 years of their life sentences without the possibility of parole? Is there a chance for a new trial now that another person, Roy Rossello, has come forward with the accusation that their father Jose Menendez also raped him when he was an underage member of the boy band Menudo? Could this be a new piece of evidence to corroborate the brothers’ story that Jose sexually abused them, a key part of their original defense, which was excluded from their second trial? In the Peacock docu series “Menendez + Menudo: Boys Betrayed”, Roy details how he met Jose Menendez, then the president of RCA records, when Menudo came to New York City to negotiate a record deal. What about the judge who presided over both 1993 and 1996 trials? There is more to discover about his biases. And finally, what about Kitty, Erik and Lyle's mother?
