We've come to nearly the end of this movie year, and we've got three huge releases to discuss ... and that doesn't even include "Vice," which we can't get to until tomorrow. First, it's Clint Eastwood directing himself for the first time in a decade -- with Bradley Cooper! -- in "The Mule." Then, Barry Jenkins follows up "Moonlight" with the James Baldwin adaptation "If Beale Street Could Talk." And then there's the animated, wild spinoff "Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse." Time for the dead sprint toward the end of the year, with three big releases with just a couple of weeks left until our end of the year event, Dorkfest, the release of our top 10 films of the year. So let's get to it. First, it's Alfonso Cuaron's "Roma," which won Best Picture from both the New York and Los Angeles Critics Associations. We've got all sorts of fun for you this week, with two big huge movies from two of our favorite Oscar-winning directors. First, it's Steve McQueen's heist thriller "Widows." Then the Coen brothers have some fun with the Western with Netflix's "The Ballad of Buster Scruggs." Lots of uninspiring movies this week, we're sad to say. But hopefully you won't find the show itself uninspired. First, Grierson hammers "The Grinch" for a while, and then we both dig into the J.J. This is real life, and this is just a fantasy. It's the Queen musical biopic "Bohemian Rhapsody," and one of us really likes it, and one of us very much does not. Then it's into the depths of film history with a look at Orson Welles' final "film," "The Other Side of the Wind," salvaged by Netflix. One of the best reviewed movies of the year, currently only available for New Yorkers but hitting theaters nationwide soon, is Lee Chang-Dong's "Burning," based on a Haruki Murakami short story. We dig into what makes it so great. Then Grierson solos on "Suspiria," as well as a few good documentaries. And people are still talking about Shane Carruth's "Primer" 14 years after it came out. It's a "Star Is Born" world: The rest of us just get to live here occasionally.
