Monte James from YourAgNetwork sent us an update from Ambassador Brandstad in China on the importation of US beef and possibly sweet corn in to that country; plus today was amendment day in the Senate on their version of the farm bill, with Mike and Delaney looking at two proposals that probably will be adopted - one from John Thune on CRP and the other from Charles Grassley on farm payment limits. And some cool news about a worthwhile group working to keep farmers farming!And, Hannah Pagel is still down in Kansas City, Missouri at the I Am FarmHer Conference, and today she spoke with one of the few sheep dairy proprietors in the U.S., Sarah Hoffman of Green Dirt Farm in Weston, MO. The Hoffman family has been milking sheep and producing artisanal cheese for almost 20 years, and you can find it on the menu of many resturants in the KC area. It's another Monday, so it's another sell off in the commodities world as trade threats reverberated throughout the weekend. Weather is also driving events, as wildfires in California spread and flooding impacts parts of the cornbelt. The conversation has a heavy focus today on the rapid run up in Minneapolis Wheat futures, the drought in the Dakotas, and blockchain; the technology that AgriDigital is using to modernize, and secure, commodity sales.

Today we continue our coverage of the first FarmHer Conference in Des Moines, Iowa by speaking with two more driven women in Agriculture; Emily Roush, who raises hogs with her husband in Kansas and was the recipient of the first FarmHer Scholarship, and Dee Dee Chadwick with Nationwide Financial, who works with business owners of all stripes, including farm and ranch businesses, to craft succession plans that achieve the owners' goals. We also take a look at some of the big news of the day: EPA formally begins withdrawing the WOTUS regulation, though it will be a multi-step process; and BPI settles its defamation case with ABC news over the "pink slime" coverage of BPI's lean finely-textured beef from 2012. Also, Mike is on a ridiculous amount of medication for an ear infection, but he can still get fired up about cattle going LIMIT UP! To make sense of the move in the meats, the gang called Jim Burns (@JimmyHog) in Chicago for his insights, and, as usual, he doesn't disappoint!
