Two Guys One Trek

Ira and Josh realize they’ve made friends with the crew of the Enterprise, Kirk beams down some muskets to a bunch of locals, and we learn that you shouldn’t wear Mugatu in the summer.

Josh imagines a Star Trek greeting card with a dangerous Vulcan bear on the bridge of the Enterprise, Ira likes when Spock goes into the “Dark Zone,” and we wonder when Bones and Spock are finally going to throw down.

Happy Birthday to Bill Shatner; this is definitely his favorite episode. Don your pinstripe suit, grab your tommy gun, and get used to our Captain calling himself “Koik.” Another highlight in this season’s “themed” episodes, particularly Kirk’s driving skills.

In the wise words of Herman the Gladiator: the providers provide, but you know, sometimes you have to provide for yourself. Kirk fights colored brains, Spock and Bones go at it with each other, and we make some dubious choices with some slave girls.

We ask the big questions on TG1T, y’all: is this on the record? Kirk really shines in this one, yes this is definitely ON the record, and we see Trek turn the mundane into the captivating. One of the best!

Scotty is a murderer!!! Come on down to the Kasbah, take a load off, listen to some groovy music, and don’t mind JACK THE RIPPER OVER THERE IN THE CORNER.

I love the smell of honey and smoke machine in the morning. Josh envisions the bathrooms going out on deck 5, Ira debates the wisdom of using sense of smell for television, and we decide Kirk has killed the most people in Starfleet history.

Ahhh, the episode that DeForest Kelley was born to play! Our crew is getting older and they don’t know why, the boys pick a drink for each of our main characters, and Bones wants you to get off his damn lawn.

Imagine a world where everyone wears curtains instead of clothes, and their most fearsome weapons are irons and pregnant wives. Sound awesome? Then, this is your episode!

Spock used to have a teddy bear! It’s take your parents to work day, and our favorite Vulcan is not having it. Kirk, however, is having a blast launching himself off of walls in the corridor.

Love conquers all! The inventor of the warp drive falls in love with a cloud of energy, Josh falls in love with love stories, and we talk some serious Little Mermaid talk.

Josh decides that Scotty can fix anything and everything, we see Harry Mudd from season 1, and the Enterprise crew tries their hand and performance art…and it’s amaze-balls.

We’ve got castles, and witches, and giant cats that Spock thinks are fierce as f*ck. It’s Halloween in Trek-land. Get ready for the themed episodes, folks, and this is one of the funnest!

Josh really loves the struggle with the Wino Captain we meet, Ira digs Scotty being 100% done with this episode, and we talk about how Martin Luther King Jr. told Nichelle Nichols she needed to stick with the show.

Come on kids, we’re going to learn about sex and death! Who doesn’t love a planet with exploding rocks? Red shirts, that’s who. Big time. Who called this place a paradise, anyway?

Everyone put on your evil mustaches and get on the transporter - it’s alternate universe time! Josh worries about being bunked next to the Agonizing Booth, while Kirk and the gang pit themselves against Evil Spock and a very surly Chekhov.

The boys change up the improv game to show off Josh’s film expert skillz, and in the episode, Kirk and the gang match wits with Nomad who really gets f*cked up in his first meeting with humans.

Welcome to Apollo High! Where all girls are cheerleaders, Chekhov is always right, and where Scotty is the only one willing to throw down to protect his classmates. Neener-neener-neener!

Season Twwwoooooo! They kick things off with a bang: Spock needs to rub one out, McCoy keeps tranquilizers in his pocket at all time (definitely not creepy?), and we meet Stan the Vulcan who insists on being called “Ston.”
