Welcome back everyone to another week of VYPE Locker Talk Radio today is February 1sr which means its district realignment day. Every 2 years the University Interscholastic League redraws every district based on enrollment and geographic area.   VYPE Magazine was down at the Region 4 Education Service Center in Houston to follow all the district announcements that began at 9am.   Todd and Josh will break down the most interesting districts that came out of today and later in the podcast they talk more coaching changes happening this week. In segment 2 we will bring in a host of interviews that Matt Malatesta conducted Thursday morning as we have six coaches that will talk about their respective new districts.  A very busy week in Houston high school sports as Todd James and Josh Koch talk about the latest coaching movements in Houston, we’ve got big news from The Woodlands, Houston ISD, and some new hires in Montgomery ISD that we will touch on. There was some big hoops action this past Tuesday that involves some new powers in Houston. We'll also touch on some baseball and softball players coming up in next months VYPE Magazine, our annual Baseball/Softball issue. In the second segment "Locker Talk" brings in new Lake Creek football coach Pat Kennedy who comes over from The Woodlands, new Lake Creek volleyball coach Tommie Sledge who everyone knows from her time at Oak Ridge, and new Montgomery Lady Bear volleyball coach Kayli Kerr Faigle who recently coached at College Station.  All of those interviews coming up along with some comments from Montgomery ISD Athletic Director Clint Heard in segment 2. Our 2nd season of VYPE Locker Talk Radio kicks off with how did high school athletes react to the inaugural early signing period and in particular who won the city of Houston for top athletes. VYPE Managing Editor Josh Koch and Producer Todd James discuss the impact of early signing day on the two heavy weights of the lone star state, the University of Texas and Texas A&M. DePriest Taylor of the Manvel Mavericks joins Todd James in the second segment to discuss his role in what many are calling the greatest high school football game ever played. Last weekends epic 5A D1 championship game between Highland Park and Manvel. Highland Park won the contest 53-49 but there were no losers as both teams fought to the end. Taylor was the first ever recipient from a losing team to win the Defensive MVP award. Taylor talks about what it meant to play if a game that will be talked about for generations.

"VYPE Locker Talk Radio" brings in David Fletcher, General Manager of Lonestar Sports & Entertainment and Executive Director of the Advocate Texas Kickoff to discuss organizing and preparation of the September 2 game with LSU vs BYU. This is year 5 of a 8 year commitment with the @TexasKickoff and the city of Houston and Fletcher discusses the success of the the game and what next to grow the game with Houston. St. Pius X Head Football Coach Steve Hill joins Todd and Thomas in the third segment to discuss managing competition, bringing home the title on 2017, and how to manage a top athlete in 4 star recruit Grant Gunnell. Manvel is coming off a "disappointing" 2017 season where they finished 14 and 1 with a state semi-final appearance. Bisselman takes over the most challenging job in Texas this season as he will attempt to rebuild a football program that has been in shambles since the 1980's. Formerly of Fulshear and Cinco Ranch Bisselman takes over a program which has gone 39-207 since 1990. Bissleman brings youth, energy, and desire to a program which features all-district wide receiver Henry Hampton and returns 9 total starters from 2016.
