  • Episode 579: Tethered Oral Tissues

    17/09/2024 Duration: 15min

Tongue tie practically dropped on the scene around 2005 or so and has been a bundle of confusion since. Here is a more chiro-centric approach to this issue

  • Episode 578: Ten Year Podcast Anniversary Replay of Episode 1

    10/09/2024 Duration: 27min

In 2014, a Life University student approached me after class and said "You should post some of your talks on a podcast!" I looked at them puzzled and asked, "What's a podcast?" 10 years and almost 600 episodes in, I thought it fitting to repost the first Chirocast podcast. Enjoy!

  • Episode 577: "The Law of Supply & Demand"

    03/09/2024 Duration: 10min

There is a different speed of the delivery of health. The nerve system delivers its messages almost instantly, whereas the circulatory system takes longer. This creates potential delays in the way health can be expressed. Chiropractic helps provide detours for these delays.

  • Episode 576: Coordination- Green book series continues

    27/08/2024 Duration: 10min

Coordination is what chiropractic adjustments improve upon, especially when applied consistently and in conjunction with neurological exercises. A healthier, stronger body is more coordinated...all its pieces are working in harmony. Newton's law of motion vs inertia is also applicable with improved coordination.

  • Episode 575: Momentum---Green book series continues

    20/08/2024 Duration: 09min

The word momentum is not just for physics...it can also apply to your health. What is the trajectory of the momentum of your health look like? Are you moving towards health or towards sickness and what BJ Palmer and Ralph Stephenson called dis-ease?

  • Episode 574: Five Lessons

    13/08/2024 Duration: 11min

Five lessons learned early on in practice still teach me to this day, especially the concept of being 'wowed' every time something amazing happens, which it does so regularly that you can become a little less 'wowed'. This is a replay from 2018, a Life U graduation speech. Here's another wow...this was the 200th episode posted, today's is 574! WOW!

  • Episode 573: Alzheimer's responds to lifestyle changes

    06/08/2024 Duration: 06min

Two recent articles talked about how Alzheimer's responds to lifestyle changes. That is an amazing breakthrough on the one hand, but on the other hand, doesn't it make sense that someone with any neurologic issue, from Autism to Alzheimer's, would improve if they ate better, exercised more, and did stress-reduction protocols? Wouldn't we all be healthier with those lifestyle improvements? Here are the 2 articles: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC11157928/ https://alzres.biomedcentral.com/articles/10.1186/s13195-024-01482-z

  • Episode 572: Autism, Chiropractic, & ABA Therapy

    30/07/2024 Duration: 23min

How do chiropractors work with kids on the Spectrum? How does ABA Therapy works with kiddos with Autism? Can the 2 professions work together to get better results? Listen in to the conversation...

  • Episode 571: "Evolution or Revolution"

    23/07/2024 Duration: 11min

According to BJ Palmer, the son of the founder of chiropractic, DD Palmer, took health "out of the realms of the accidental field and put the doing into an intentional field." Did DD Palmer realize how big the thing was that he was doing? Probably not at that moment...but now chiropractic is international!

  • Episode 570: 'Big History'

    16/07/2024 Duration: 21min

There is a great website called the Big History Project (https://bhp-public.oerproject.com/) that puts billions of years of history of the universe into bite sized chunks (including an 18 minute TED talk). During this presentation, Dr Rubin discusses Big History as it relates to chiropractic (originally posted in 2014).

  • Episode 569: What Chiropractors Can Learn from Modern Dentistry

    09/07/2024 Duration: 15min

Ever wonder how modern dentistry has become one of the most prestigious in the health care industry after its very humble beginnings? In the 1950's, dentists were pulling teeth in dingy offices. Then they organized and created a plan, and worked that plan, and now look at them! What is chiropractic's plan? Good question... This podcast was originally aired in 2015.

  • Episode 568: The Philosophy Science & Art of Chiropractic...Green book series

    02/07/2024 Duration: 21min

Chiropractic is a philosophy, science and art. All 3 are critical in becoming the best chiropractor for whatever practice members you see. Its philosophy, science and art are like a 3 legged stool...if you take one leg off, the stool cannot support your weight.

  • Episode 567: Dr. Sid Williams Altered the Direction of My Life

    25/06/2024 Duration: 14min

Back in July of 1993, I went to Dynamic Essentials (or DE) as a chiropractor and left as a chiropractic warrior with a major purpose. Here how 1 simple sentence that Dr Sid said during his Thursday opening altered the direction of my life

  • Episode 566: Constructive Survival Value-Green book series continues

    18/06/2024 Duration: 08min

The concept of accumulative constructive and destructive survival value can be likened to making deposits or withdrawals with a bank account. Put deposits in, and you build accumulative constructive survival value. The more deposits you put into your health bank account, the greater your resilience when a withdrawal comes your way.

  • Episode 565: Things school didn't prepare you for

    11/06/2024 Duration: 31min

School does a good job at preparing you to pass National Exams and get licensed, but can't prepare you for every possibility. Here Dr Rubin answers questions about starting a peds-focused practice and about what to look for if deciding on an associate job.

  • Episode 564: "Time Is Of The Essence"- Green book series

    04/06/2024 Duration: 12min

ADHD rates are now at 11.4% (that's 7.1 million kiddos), an extra 1 million kiddos compared to 2016 (see attached link for article). Infants as young as 6 weeks old can have characteristics that might lead to an autism diagnosis (see link). Chiropractors work on the brain and nerve system. The earlier we get a chance to work on kiddos, the better! Change trajectories! Time IS of the essence! ADHD article: https://www.tandfonline.com/doi/full/10.1080/15374416.2024.2335625 Autism article: https://www.nature.com/articles/s42003-024-06016-9

  • Episode 563: Divert Attention- Green book series

    28/05/2024 Duration: 13min

"Stay put", BJ Palmer tells us. "The difference between a big shot & a little shot is that the big shot is a little shot that kept on shooting" (Zig Ziglar). Sometimes in order to solve a problem, the key in the solution is to keep on trying different things until you figure it out. This can be helpful when you are working with kids with Autism who are minimally speaking. Each child has their own 'language', and it will take time to learn how they prefer to communicate.

  • Episode 562: A new role for chiropractic?

    20/05/2024 Duration: 16min

In 2 recent articles, (see links below), a 'new role of chiropractic' was introduced, that boils down to this: chiropractors should essentially 'stay in their lane' and adjust only people with back pain "without extending their services to other more controversial clinical areas." Hmm. The results we see in pediatric chiropractic care tend to totally refute their idea. I think I'll stick with my current role in chiropractic! Here are the 2 articles...Part 1: https://chiromt.biomedcentral.com/articles/10.1186/s12998-024-00531-6, Part 2: https://chiromt.biomedcentral.com/articles/10.1186/s12998-024-00532-5

    13/05/2024 Duration: 33min
