Jason Hendrix takes over the hosting seat for a while to talk to me about my journey that has been CoSIDA, SIDcast, and life in general. This interview will mostly cover the interviewee selection process, the people who have been most influential to me, and some technical stuff and suggestions that I have for those of you looking to spark your own podcasts in the future. Josh Neuhart has been intertwined in red and black with Grace College since his undergrad days with the Lancers. As a junior, Josh and his roommate were tasked with leading the sports information department for two years taking on the ultimate gauntlet that are the trials of being a young SID. Fast forward a few years and Josh along with his department at Grace have won several CoSIDA awards including the honor of the best NAIA website for 2017. One thing that has been reiterated in my talk with the new NAIA-SIDA President, Aaron Sagraves, is that he values and lives for the student-athlete. From falling in love with the coverage of SA's to bettering the student workers around him, Aaron lives for it all. Throughout this discussion, we'll hear topics from CoSIDA and developing a style guide to coverage in a small-college heavy area like west Michigan and a fun April fools day prank. July 1st signaled the start of the new athletic school year. With that, many conference's changed hands when it came to membership. The Missouri Valley Conference was not spared in the chaos as our guest will go into detail on the process of adding new schools like Valparaiso. Ryan Davis took the MVC job after spending more than a decade at the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference in Indiana (I swear I didn't do that on purpose). Ryan will also detail his involvement in the CoSIDA outreach program, his worst play-by-play horror story and much more. The River States Conference SID of the Year, Kyle Wright, is with us today to speak about the honor along with what it's like in a small, NAIA office. The RSC also went through a rebrand in the last few years, Wright will discuss the process the Kentucky Intercollegiate Athletic Conference took to become the brand it is now.
