Synopsis
Don't Give Up, Skeleton is a podcast inspired by one simple question: how did you get into the Souls games? Every week, Jeremy Greer interviews a guest about their own personal Souls story. Guests include a wide variety of people, both well known on the internet and completely unknown. Each episode is a bit different, with guests discussing what the games mean to them, whether it be a technical look into the inner workings, how NPC quest lines mirror personal relationships, fun and exciting lore stories, or lengthy discussions about the music in the games. Episode 33: Peter Cleaves
15/11/2016 Duration: 51minHello skeletons! This week’s guest is Peter Cleaves! You probably know Peter from his Twitter, where he is a delightful personality. Or you may know him from his work at Sony, where he has personally blocked the HD remake of Demon’s Souls from ever happening (I kid, I kid!). Peter was a great guest, and has an interesting origin story for the Souls series. I think you’ll like it a lot. Episode 32: Teresa
06/11/2016 Duration: 53minA new episode is here, skeletons! This week’s guest is Teresa, a delightful person that likes riding bikes, knitting, and killing people with Karmic Justice in Dark Souls PVP. She’s also unique on this podcast in that she doesn’t particularly care for Bloodborne (don’t worry, we’ll convert her to our side soon). I’ve known Teresa for a few years now, so I’m happy to have finally gotten to know her a bit more. I’m sure you’ll enjoy it as well. Episode 31: Naiyt
01/11/2016 Duration: 50minHello Skeletons! This week’s guest is Naiyt. Naiyt is the current owner and operator of MugenMonkey.com, THE place to craft your Souls builds. It’s a build planning site for all of the Souls games, and is insanely useful for PVE or PVP builds. We have a fun conversation about how he approaches the game, and of course I can’t help myself but get into some nitty gritty details. Since we recorded, Naity has started a Patreon. If you join up now you can get early access to the new beta app for Android. See the links below for details, and enjoy the episode! Episode 30: Aikao
24/10/2016 Duration: 46minHello again skeletons! This week we are talking with Aikao, who is a huge Souls fan. We talk about the games, of course, and also get into how to successfully moderate a reddit sub that has 100,000 members. I find another Chalice friend, proving that Chalices are the secret sauce that everyone likes despite being seeing as bad. That’s a terrible metaphor, but whatever, Chalices are GREAT. You might know him from Duckfeed.tv, Watch Out For Fireballs, or Bonfireside Chat. Gary and I sit down and talk about the real issues: why did it take him so long to play Dark Souls? 17/10/2016 Duration: 57minThat’s right, skeletons! This week is yet another TWOFER week on Don’t Give Up, Skeleton. The first episode is my interview with Kole Ross, who definitely doesn’t need an introduction. You all know who he is: Watch Out For Fireballs, Bonfireside Chat, Duckfeed.TV. Episode 25: Paolo
28/09/2016 Duration: 01h21sA new episode, skeletons! Cast yourselves back to the week of E3 2016. Myself and Paolo, this week’s guest, jump on a microphone and start talking. The first thing I learn is that he’s a graphic programmer for Sony Santa Monica, and that he’s working on God of War. The second thing I learn is that he worked on Firewatch as well. The third thing I learned is that he LOVES the Souls series. We’ve had some enthusiastic guests on before, but Paolo is on a whole new level. This is one you’ll enjoy. Episode 24: Liam
20/09/2016 Duration: 01h13minWe’re back skeletons! This week we are joined by Liam, a delightful Australian who loves music and Dark Souls. We immediately get off topic into some music talk, but bring it around back to Souls quickly enough. I need to toss an all caps WARNING into the notes for this one, since Liam talks about some pretty dark times in his life. If you are sensitive to talk about alcohol abuse, you might want to skip this episode. As always, if you’d like to be on the show, send an email to dguspodcast@gmail.com, or use my variety of social media networks listed below to send me a message. Episode 23: Gav Weir
12/09/2016 Duration: 58minThat’s right, this week’s guest is the second founder of YouDied.co.uk, Gav Weir! We talk about everything Souls, as usual, starting with the lack of a thorough Dark Souls wiki. I promise, it’s explained in the episode. Be warned, Gav and I apparently suffered some major memory loss during this episode, as neither of us were able to remember some pretty common names. It happens, folks. https://youdied.co.uk Gav on Twitter: http://twitter.com/GavWeir As always, if you’d like to be on the show, send an email to dguspodcast@gmail.com, or use my variety of social media networks listed below to send me a message. 12/09/2016 Duration: 01h06minSkeletons! Today’s guest is Gav Russell, one of the two people behind YouDied.co.uk. Gav and I share a very hungover conversation that is none-the-less chock full of jokes and chat about Dark Souls, and probably a bunch of other stuff too (look, I said I was hungover, give me a break over here). https://youdied.co.uk Gav on Twitter: http://twitter.com/TightToTheNail As always, if you’d like to be on the show, send an email to dguspodcast@gmail.com, or use my variety of social media networks listed below to send me a message. 06/09/2016 Duration: 54minWelcome back, skeletons! The guest for episode 21 is Suvesh. He doesn’t have a lot of history with games, but when he came across the Souls series for the first time he was hooked. He went on to play all five games so far within a year. A year! That’s crazy. Episode 20: Fiona
30/08/2016 Duration: 01h09minHello skeletons! This week’s guest is Fiona, a name you probably aren’t familiar with. Despite playing FROM software games with her brother since the PS1 days, she hasn’t really had a presence in the Souls community. I have a feeling that’s about to change, though. Fiona and I chat Souls for awhile, and then she starts laying down some serious lore. Over the course of 30 minutes, she pulls together Greek gods, Egyptian gods, possum myths (!!), and all of the royal family from Dark Souls 1 and 3. I’ll be honest, I didn’t 100% track it the first time through, and had to listen again to get a good handle on it. I think you foresters out there will love it. Since recording, Fiona has opened up her YT channel and started a twitter. So if you have questions, hit her up! Episode 18: Adam B
16/08/2016 Duration: 52minWelcome to another episode of Don’t Give Up, Skeleton! This week we are joined by Adam, a relatively new Souls player. Adam was given a copy of Dark Souls 1 by Emily B (remember episode 8 with Emily?) and has been hooked ever since. Enjoy the episode! If you’d like to come onto the podcast, send me a DM to @dguspodcast on twitter, or send me an email to dguspodcast@gmail.com.

Episode 17: Rosie
08/08/2016 Duration: 52minHello Skeletons! This week’s guest is Rosie, a woman I met during the hey days of Dark Souls 2. We became friends on Tumblr, and have kept up with each other over the years since. We have a long conversation about her own journey with the Souls series, pausing to gush over the amazing Old Hunters DLC for Bloodborne (as has become a trend on this show). PLUS! She likes Chalice Dungeons! That makes…three guests so far! Not bad. As always, send me an email to dguspodcast@gmail.com if you want to come on to the show! 03/08/2016 Duration: 58minHello again Skeletons! This week's guest is Leonard, aka DrFaustIsDead. Leonard is a great guy that I met via the Duckfeed group, and has started his own series of "lore plays" videos for Dark Souls 3. See the link below to catch them. Leonard and I had a delightful conversation about all things Souls, so sit back, relax, and let the podcast roll.

Episode 15: NeoLoki
23/07/2016 Duration: 52minNeoLoki makes incredible YouTube videos based on the Souls series. They have a very unique and creepy aesthetic that you just don't normally see. This conversation was recorded a few days before Dark Souls III was released. We talked about marketing the game, NeoLoki's history of making videos, how he came to the Souls series, and all sorts of things in between. His personal connection to the stories of Dark Souls II will change the way you think about that game, and can change the way you think about how games in general. Remember: send an email to dguspodcast@gmail.com and you can come onto the show! All you need is a microphone and a story about how you came to the Souls games. Episode 14: Paddy Stardust
18/07/2016 Duration: 01h18minWhat?! That’s right, this week there are TWO episodes of Don’t Give Up, Skeleton for your ears to enjoy. I decided to make this a Twin Humanities themed week and post Paddy’s episode the same day as CJ’s. This one was recorded after we had both finished Dark Souls 3, so expect lots and lots of spoilers. Also, Paddy confesses his favorite game of all time is Lords of the Fallen! :o If you’d like to come onto the podcast and chat, send me an email to dguspodast@gmail.com with your Souls story, and we’ll see about making it happen.
