Synopsis

Don't Give Up, Skeleton is a podcast inspired by one simple question: how did you get into the Souls games? Every week, Jeremy Greer interviews a guest about their own personal Souls story. Guests include a wide variety of people, both well known on the internet and completely unknown. Each episode is a bit different, with guests discussing what the games mean to them, whether it be a technical look into the inner workings, how NPC quest lines mirror personal relationships, fun and exciting lore stories, or lengthy discussions about the music in the games. • Episode 112: Jonathan D.

    14/02/2018 Duration: 50min

Hi! Hello! Hey! This week's guest is Jonathan, a religious student that brings a very interesting perspective to the Souls games. It's not every week that we have comparisons of Bloodborne and Dark Souls lore to actual religions, so of course when he emailed me I jumped at the chance to interview him. We sat down to discuss his history with the series, as well as how his religious studies have effected his various playthroughs of the Souls games. • Sanadsk

    09/02/2018 Duration: 01h05min

Hello skeletons! Welcome to a special episode of Don't Give Up, Skeleton. Sanadsk is one of the first people on YouTube to start posting videos that show off cut content from Bloodborne, so when I got the opportunity to interview him, I jumped. We had a great conversation, and as you probably know from his videos, he's a very charming and personable guy. Hopefully you'll enjoy this podcast where he talks about his methodology, the unusual charm of the Souls series, and of course, all the cut content he's found. I know I enjoyed recording it! • Episode 111: Liz

    07/02/2018 Duration: 54min

Hello friends! Welcome to another episode of Don't Give Up, Skeleton. This week's guest is Liz, who is a big gamer. She started out way back when in the PS1 days, but hung up her controller once kids came along. After they grew up a bit, she picked it back up in a big way. After seeing some of Dark Souls 2's character creation, she bought it blind and jumped in. Later, she fell in love with Bloodborne and Dark Souls 1. This is a great episode, y'all, and Liz is a super sweet and nice guest. Enjoy! DGUS is now on Patreon! Donate a couple of bucks a month to help support the show. It's very much appreciated. Hello skeletons! Welcome back to the show. This week's guest is Robin, who contacted me forever ago and asked to be on the show. • Episode 109: Scott L.

    24/01/2018 Duration: 55min

Hi Skeletons! This week's guest is Scott, an extremely nice guy who likes Dark Souls, Armored Core, and Nier. As you might imagine, we talk about all three in this somewhat rambly podcast. Scott also talks about his day job of inspecting satellite imagery to deduce missile activity in North Korea, and how that made him appreciate the way the story is told in Souls and Bloodborne. • Episode 108: Sam from Dovah Design

    17/01/2018 Duration: 48min

Hello and welcome, friends. This week I sit down with Sam, a cosplayer who is playing through the Souls games for the first time and planning on building an Artorias cosplay. I had never talked to a cosplayer before, so when she emailed me and I saw how crazy good she is at this stuff, I knew I had get her on the show. We talk about designing cosplay, her experience with the Souls games, and a bunch of stuff in between. Be sure to check out the links below! • Episode 107: Wayne

    10/01/2018 Duration: 49min

Wayne and I have been Tumblr mutuals for some time now, so I was glad to finally get to talk to him about our shared passion. He talks about his experiences with the games, coaching his wife while she plays, and some of the art he's drawn in response to the game. It's a great episode, but of course I say that about every episode, so who can you really trust? Don't Give Up, Skeleton is now on Patreon, consider supporting the podcast. • Episode 106: Kris

    03/01/2018 Duration: 54min

Howdy skeletons! This week Kris makes himself comfortable in the guest chair, and we go through his entire Souls story. Kris emailed me with a subject line "Senior and OCD Souls gamer" so of course I clicked through that. At 50+, I wouldn't consider him a senior, but he took a long break from video games and came to them much later in life, so he has an interesting perspective on the Souls game. I think y'all are going to enjoy this episode. Don't Give Up, Skeleton is now on Patreon, consider supporting the podcast. After a solid 15 minutes of great conversation, I realized I hadn't been recording the dang podcast! After a brief reboot we get back to the topic at hand, and it's a great conversation. She talks about playing Bloodborne for the first time, how making videos has changed her approach to the games, and her plans for the future. Enjoy! This week's guest is the extremely nice EllieJoyPanic. Ellie and I have been twitter buds for awhile now, and she's good friends with quite a few if not all of the English guests that have been on the show. 29/11/2017 Duration: 59min

This week's guest is Paul M. Davis, a friend of mine from the Duckfeed.tv community. Paul and I met in person a year or two ago, and instantly decided he needed to be on the show. He discusses how he got started with the game, and how Dark Souls 2's depiction of dementia is one of the most accurate in a video game. Enjoy the episode!Links:Megaten Marathon

  • Episode 100: Jason Killingsworth

    22/11/2017 Duration: 01h42min

This week's guest is the great Jason Killingsworth, one half of the team that literally wrote the book on Dark Souls. Jason was one of those people that inspired me to do this podcast, even though I don't think he knew that until we recorded this episode. Jason has been into Souls since the very beginning, and has wrote numerous articles on the series. This conversation drifts in between Souls and life, religion, and how Dark Souls can teach us lessons on parenting. If you're reading this (and I have no idea how many of you read these notes), I just want to say thank you for listening and/or guesting. Episode 100 is just a number, but it seems like an accomplishment. Over 100 individual guests, all with their own unique stories, all told in their own voice in their own way. I've been remarkably lucky to have all of you listeners and guests. I'm writing this before recording the intro of the show, and I'm planning on rambling a bit thanking people there as well, so I'll try to kee

    15/11/2017 Duration: 01h06min

This week's guest is Garrett form the Going Digital podcast! Garrett and I sat down to talk about his thankfully actually existing Souls history. • Episode 98: Kou

    08/11/2017 Duration: 55min

This week's guest is Kou, who has a deep and powerful love of Bloodborne. So much so that we spoke for a full hour about just that game and somehow managed to forget about the Chalice dungeons. Oops! I know y'all are going to love this one anyway, though. Links:And Always RosesTwitterDevolution SpiralDevolution Spiral

  • Episode 97: Joe Donnelly

    01/11/2017 Duration: 50min

This week we have Joe Donnelly on the show! Joe is a writer for PC Gamer and a huge Souls fan. He and I sat down a few months ago, ostensibly to talk Souls but it ended up going all over the place. It's a real fun conversation! Unfortunately, the audio gods weren't smiling when we recorded, so Joe's audio is a bit rough in places. On top of that, we lost a good 5-10 minutes of audio right in the middle. I still think it's a great episode, though, so why are you still reading this? Go listen!Links:Joe Donnelly (@deaco2000) | Twitter

  • Episode 96: Barry

    25/10/2017 Duration: 58min

This week's guest is Barry, a guy that got into Dark Souls a big way despite his mate's best effort to scare him off. Barry and I talk about his progress through the games, what it was like playing Demon's Souls last, and why his partner hates the Souls games now. Y'all are gonna enjoy this one! Thanks for listening, skellies.Links:Barry Spencer (@speculatype) | TwitterBarry Spencer

  • Episode 95: Jessi

    18/10/2017 Duration: 01h06min

This week's guest is Jessi, an extremely filthy wizard and now co-host of the Salt Report podcast (seriously, go listen to the Salt Report podcast, it's extremely good and funny, and is entirely made up of former guests of this show). Jessi is an illustrator and artist who hasn't played all the games, but approaches them from a unique perspective. She agreed to sit down with me and discuss her funny names for Bloodborne bosses, why Souls handles women and gender so well, and to bring up friend-of-the-show Niki approximately 100000 times.
