  • Josh Harp; Passionate about Merlot

    14/11/2022 Duration: 01h25min

It’s Monday, Let’s raise a glass to the beginning of another week. It’s time to unscrew, uncork or saber a bottle and let’s begin Exploring the Wine Glass! Today, I am returning to the love of all things Merlot! I had the pleasure of sitting down with Josh Harp, winemaker for Jada Vineyards in Paso Robles. The day started with a tour of the facility and a stroll around to see all the new things that are happening at the beautiful site on the West side of Paso. This is the second time I have had Josh on the podcast. If you would like to listen to the first one, it is episode 201. In that episode we talk more about the winery and its beginnings - including why they have a wine called Jersey Girl!  During the interview, which was recorded on site, you may hear some background noise as it was recorded at the winery and a few head shakes from Vegas as he was visiting the dog friendly Jada Vineyards with  me.  Please take a moment of your time to rate and review the podcast. You can do it while you are listening. T

    31/10/2022 Duration: 17min

It’s Monday, Let’s raise a glass to the beginning of another week. It’s time to unscrew, uncork or saber a bottle and let’s begin Exploring the Wine Glass! Today, I am bringing you something special for Halloween. There is a lot of history tied to wine and wineries and where there is history, there are stories of ghosts. I love ghost stories. I have been known to try to call out ghosts, much to the embarrassment of my husband and friends.  I have requested specific rooms that ghosts have been reported to frequent. In the end, I have come to the conclusion that I am just too eager for the ghosts, because they never show themselves to me. But there is always another hotel or winery, so I’ll keep trying!  If you enjoy Exploring the Wine Glass, I’d appreciate you giving me some love by taking two minutes out of your day and swipe to rate and review on whatever app you listen on. Today, I am doing something very different than normal. The podcast will be all me! It is truly a dream to be able to visit the region one day and sip Albarino along the Mino and Sil rivers. For this episode, I give a brief introduction into the other DOs located in Galicia, but dive a bit deeper into Rias Baixas.  If you enjoy Exploring the Wine Glass, I’d appreciate you giving me some love by taking two minutes out of your day to write up a review on whatever app you listen on. It’s Monday, Let’s raise a glass to the beginning of another week. It’s time to unscrew, uncork or saber a bottle and let’s begin Exploring the Wine Glass! Today, I am honored to share an episode where the table has been turned on me.   I had the honor of being interviewed by Natalie MacLean. If you are unfamiliar with her, here is her self claimed biography: To fund her late-night vinous habits, Natalie MacLean holds down day jobs as a wine writer, speaker and judge. An accredited sommelier, she is a member of the National Capital Sommelier Guild, the Wine Writers Circle and several French wine societies with complicated and impressive names. Funny, brainy and unapologetically tipsy, her goal in life is to intimidate those crusty wine stewards at fine restaurants with her staggering knowledge. If you are a regular listener to this podcast, you know I got the opportunity to interview her also! If you missed it, please go back to episodes 253 and 254. I am not use to being on that side of the microphone, so I
