Explanation of Automatic Fluency Law #5.  The Accessibility Law of Language “The language program you use most often must be totally portable and readily accessible to you at all times so that you may take advantage of life’s many waiting periods to learn languages”. The language program you use must be totally portable and immediately available to you so that you may use it to harness life’s many waiting periods to learn and practice languages.  Down time is actually language fluency “up time”.  Instead of being frustrated by life’s many delays, you become motivated by learning languages and becoming fluent during these otherwise frustrating waiting moments.

DESCRIPTION: Explanation of Automatic Fluency Law #4 The High Frequency Law of Language “You must first learn that 80% of all communication in a given language comes from only 20% of its words, and learn those words first”. Not all words in a given language are of equal “weight” and importance. English has over 171,000 words, most of which are never used. Low frequency words in English like “antidisestablishmentarianism” are almost never used and have no communicative value.  A high frequency word like “house” is constantly used in daily conversation.  Conclusion?  Learn and use high frequency words and phrases and maximize your communicative ability in a minimum of time and effort.

Applying  Commandment #2 on Interval Memory. The Memory Law of Language “You must always use an effective interval or periodic retrieval memory technique while learning languages”. You can make any language program more effective by applying a high-quality interval memory recall system.  The very best language programs have this system already built in to the structure of the course.  The only way to become fluent in any language is to be able to remember and actually use what you learn.
