Getting in the Game with PNWild. In this episode of the Epic Outdoors Podcast we teamed up with the guys at the PNWild Podcast. They had some questions for Jason on Mule deer, big elk, where to start with applications, how to develop a long term application strategy, glassing tips, and much more. This was a fun episode where we got to sit back and have a conversation about the things we love and live for. 

Utah Deadline, Tags, and a New Polaris. In this episode of The Epic Outdoors Podcast we talk about the looming deadline for Utah Applications. We talk more in detail about current weather trends in Utah and our Outlook for 2021. We also talk with Colton Francis, of Triple S Polaris who is building an EPIC hunt rig for us. We also talk about New Mexico and why we like applying in the New Mexico Draw. 

Hunting Colorado with Mike Duplan. In this episode we get to sit down in the studio with Mike Duplan, co-author of "The Edge" a book about hunting mountain mule deer. Mike is a longtime Colorado resident and has deep experience hunting in the state. Our conversation focuses primarily on hunting big mule deer but we also talk about sheep, elk, and moose as Mike has dedicated a lot of time to each of those species. We discuss how we see Colorado wildlife and wildlife management currently and in the future. 

Applying in Utah and New Mexico. In this episode we talk through our outlook on application season. Utah and New Mexico are upcoming as well as the Nevada guide draw. We talk through some important things to remember when applying in these states. If you love to hunt these are must apply for states. There are some big potential changes to be aware of good luck in the draw.

Big Changes in Life and Legislation. In this episode we reveal a big change as Epic Staff Member, Chris Petersen, gets engaged after what seems like decades of hunting. A tag finally punched. We also talk about the huge new proposed changes to Utah legislation in regards to baiting and trail cameras. There are also big changes proposed in New Mexico and Montana. This year could change the way you've hunted for many years. 

Advancements in Optics with Colby Kroff of Swarovski. This week we had Colby Kroff of Swarovski in the studio. Colby brought in the new, highly anticipated, EL Range TA. The advancements are incredible. Bluetooth capable, the ability to program ballistic profiles from rifles, and the all new Tracking Assist program. Democrats and Drawing Tags. We recently got a letter from a member and listener who has gotten the impression we think that there are no Democrats that hunt. He sent us a letter and a hat to let us know that there are a few out there. Although we may not agree on politics we do agree that we love hunting and we're excited to start applying for tags in 2021.

Most of us  dream about our upcoming hunts all year long. Our online tools allow you to maximize your pre-hunt research and scouting efforts. Use our research tools to learn, look up drawing odds and info on state draws, read info from our print magazine in the e-mag. You can also use the point tracker to keep your points organized. Preparedness often proceeds success so make sure to take advantage of our online resources. 

New Year, New Plans! Being Optimistic in 2021. With each new year comes a new chance to apply and strategize for the season to come. We all start off the new year with a lot of dreams. Trail Cam Ban in Arizona. In this episode we discuss the proposed trail camera ban in the state of Arizona. We also call Arizona outfitter John Adams of HPO to get his views on the proposed ban and how it could affect hunters and outfitter in the state depending on how the law is implemented. 

You Don't Know What You've Got Until It's Gone. Taking Advantage of Opportunities Before They Are Gone. Over the course of the last 20 and even 10 years we have watched some incredible hunting opportunities disappear. Many of these are things we took for granted like over the counter general season tags, low tag prices, statewide tags. The message of our podcast is to enjoy the things we still have because surely many of them will also go away. Everything changes and as the world changes, our hunting will also change. Escape from a Frigid Alaskan River with Aaron Bronson. In this episode we talk with Aaron Bronson and hear his near death story from Alaska 2020. Lessons learned and gear that saved his life. When you are wet and cold in Alaska a fire can make the difference in life and death. The difference in this case was Pyro Putty and the Pyro Putty lighter. We also talk about the 2020 hunting season and our outlook on 2021. 

Ridge Reaper with Travis Gessley of UA. In this episode we talk with Travis Gessley of Under Armour about the Ridge Reaper line. We have a long history with Under Armour and with the Ridge Reaper line in particular. From the Ridge Reaper tv show to the gear, we've played a part in each step. We love the 2020 gear and have never been excited about the performance of the product. When you need functional gear for hunting, it simply works.  

Alaska Mtn. Goat with The Epic Crew. In this episode we catch up at the office and hear about Adams recent Mtn. Goat hunt in Alaska. We also hear from Wyatt who recently returned from a successful Shiras Moose hunt with his dad in Utah. We hope everyone is having a good season. EP 180: Alaska Moose Drop Camp Hunt, Wyatt and Devin Report. In this episode of the epic outdoors podcast Wyatt and Devin tell us about their recent trip to Alaska on a Drop Camp Moose hunt with Dillinger River Outfitters. It was a unique experience with a lot learned and well worth the trip. Along with both harvesting great bulls Devin was also able to tag a Wolf. If youve ever wanted to do a drop camp moose hunt you need to listen to this one.

A 185" Dall Sheep with Dan Montgomery and Hank Flatow. In this episode we talk with Dan Montgomery and Hank Flatow of Alaska Trophy Adventures who just guided hunter, Louis Breland to a true giant of a Dall Sheep. This ram is 11 1/2 years old and has a green gross score of 185 2/8" and a Net score of 184 4/8"  The ram had incredible bases that measured at 15 2/8" It is truly remarkable in a Dall Sheep to have that kind of mass. We enjoy hearing the story of the hunt and how it all played out. 

Archery Tips, Bow Setups, Arrows, with Bob Fromme. In this episode we talk with, Bob Fromme, archery expert and owner of Performance Archery in San Diego CA. Bob has an extreme amount of experience with bows and shooting. We talk through setups, arrows, tuning, broadheads and much more. You can see over 20 of Bobs hunts on his Bob Fromme Youtube Channel. Brendan Burns of KUIU. In this episode we talk with, Brendan Burns, Chief Hunting Officer of KUIU. Brendan tells us a little more about the new Valo pattern from KUIU as well as what 2020 is looking like for him. We also hear about the sheep transplant on Antelope Island that was privately funded by KUIU a few of its donors.
