    Carly Cauley is a speech-language-pathologist and group facilitator for MnCAN (Minnesota Connect Aphasia Now), a non-profit providing support and programs for people with aphasia and their families. Aphasia is a language disorder that affects the ability to speak, read, write, and understand what others are saying. It is caused by stroke, brain injury or some progressive neurological disorders. It does not affect intelligence. The inability to communicate can cause devastating isolation. In addition to facilitating conversation groups, she is also MnCAN's Communications and Outreach Coordinator. She has a Masters Degree in Speech Pathology from the University of Minnesota and a BA in Speech and Hearing Science from the University of Iowa.
