What many people don't know is that Charles Darwin early in his life was studying to be an Anglican priest. He once held to the authority of the Bible, but his life is one tragic story of his descent into apostasy. How did that happen? For one, it started with his questioning of the authority of Scripture, his questioning of the early chapters of Genesis, and his questioning of the doctrine of hell.

There were others before Charles Darwin who taught a type of evolution, such as his grandfather, Erasmus Darwin; however, the world was not ready to receive such a revolutionary view. There were various philophers and philosphies that paved the way for the accetptability of Darwinism

One of the organizations touting theistic evolution is the Biologos Foundation. It is one of the most dangerous organizations in the country because it calls itself 'evangelical.'

One of the theistic evolutionists who has compromised on the doctrine of creation is Dr. Gregg Davidson. This is part 2 of my analysis of his views, particularly his book, "When Faith and Science Collide."

There are those today who espouse a view known as theistic evolution that God used the process of evolution to create all life forms, including man. Evolution is often touted as a scientific fact, which it isn't. Charles Darwin made several admissions that would astound many.

One of the theistic evolutionists that has denied the historicity of Adam is Dr. Peter Enns. His views are the logical conclusion of denying the biblical doctrine of creation. He is one of the worse theistic evolutionists in terms of the radical nature of his views.

In the year 2000 the PCA General Assembly adopted various recommendations of its creation study report. While there are some good aspects of the report, the major weakness is that it allowed a diversity of belief on the meaning of the days of creation. What this has done is open wide the door for evolutionists to promote their view of thiestic evolution even though the report forbade any view of evolution.

This is message 16 in my lecture series on Theistic Evolution: A Sinful Compromise. I summarize the key elements why this view is a sinful compromise of the doctrine of creation.

Jesus said that our prayers must not be like the Pharisees who pray in order to be seen of men. He teaches us how to pray by using what is commonly known as the Lord's prayer

Jesus said that unless our righteousness exceeded that of the Pharisees, we would not enter the kingdom of heaven. Having the wrong motives of being seen of men is one sure way to have God disapprove of us and send us to hell. Almsgiving, prayer, and fasting are three religious activities where the motives must be pure.

Is there a higher ethic in the NT as opposed to the OT? No. Jesus is correcting Pharaisaical misunderstanding and miss application of the Mosaic Law. Loving one's enemies is in the OT. Both Testaments instruct us not to show personal revenge but to leave that to God, who will avenge us if necessary. Jesus said not to resist evil and turn the other cheek. Does this prohibit self, family, and national defense? What did Jesus mean in telling us to not resist evil?

Jesus said that unless our righteousness exceeded that of the Pharisees and Scribes we would not enter the kingdom of God. The Pharisees believed that the commandments of God were not violated unless physical adultery was committed. Jesus informs us that adultery is of the heart; it begins in the heart. How do we deal with such a sin of the heart?

Ever thought about the scope, breath, and strictness of the sixth commandment- Thou Shall Not Murder? Learn how sinful anger in all its forms is a breaking of this commandment. Jesus said that it can make one in danger of the fires of hell. It is that serious.

Jesus did not come to abolish the Law, namely the moral and judicial law. He fulfilled the ceremonial law as the lamb of God that takes away the sins of the world, but with reference to the moral and judicial law (the case laws) Jesus kept them in exahaustive detail and expected Christians to do the same.

Without Christians individually and constitued as the church, our culture cannot be won to Christ,and the culture will sink into the depths of depravity. Salt is a preservative and enhances taste to food. How does the church act as salt to a putrifying world? Jesus is the Light of the World, and the church is the light as well. Just how do we let our light shine? How do we make a difference? Could it be that one is a nominal Christian and not a genuine Christian?

One of the most conspicuous indicators that Christianity is the true religion is that Christians will be, not maybe, be persecuted. Satan hates Christ and His church. Those of the world love their own, and since Christians are not of the world, the world hates genuine Christians. Despite the suffering, great reward awaits those persecuted for righteousness sake.
