The difference between Saul and David was their heart. The reason David was a man after God’s own heart was because he had a repentant heart.

There is a connection between hearing the voice of God, understanding the will of God and our faithfulness. We should be attentive to hear God, ready to obey God and humble to serve God, just like Samuel.
