This episode of CarStories is a little different than usual. We thought we'd take the chance to let our two new hosts introduce themselves to you more fully and in their own words. You can expect a regular episode on Thursday! Enjoy!

This episode is a double-header of interviews conducted by the always erudite James McKeone. James sat down first with the president of HRE Performance Wheels to talk about spinners and his Honda Fit and lots of other awesome wheel-related subjects. James also had the chance to speak to legendary drag racer Doug Herbert who now spends his time running his charity B.R.A.K.E.S. which has racers teach kids car control and shows them the dangers of distracted driving. 

Tony Angelo is the current host of Motor Trend's Hot Rod Garage and a former Formula D competitor and judge. He came by the museum to tell us about his journey through the world of racing and being the host of one of the coolest shows on the internet.

We’ve been away for a minute and we hope you missed us as much as we missed you, but the good news is that Car Stories is back! We have a new format, some new hosts but we promise to continue to bring you the kinds of incredible stories and interviews that got you hooked on us in the first place. This week we relaunch our podcast with an interview with Jim Busby. Jim is a legendarily talented driver and team owner as well as a very, very nice guy. Cars were supposed to simplify our lives. They were intended to make Earth smaller, and travel more brief and efficient. And they did, for a time. Now, most cities have some level of gridlock, its corresponding pollution and frustration, and driving has devolved into commuting. Yet many people are still reticent to embrace public transit in all but a few North American cities.

It’s always a question of perspective. Ernie Salazar was always a car guy, and always favored muscle. As young teenager, he lusted after a ’72 Ford Mustang Mach 1 that a mechanic down the street owned. When he turned 16, he struck a deal with the mechanic who owned it.
