In this Sunday Open House series on Acaryas, we will discuss what are the qualifications of an acarya and how one becomes one.

An Acarya is 'one who teaches by example'. In simpler terms 'people hear what you do, more than they hear what you say!'. Krishna spoke of the acarya principle in the Bhagavad-gita both by calling Arjuna's attention to it as an important component of his decision making, and by living it himself. Join us as we explore the acarya principle in the lives of both western and eastern philosophers and revolutionary teachers.

Affection lies at the heart of the most intimate relationships. As one progresses along the spiritual path, one begins to feel intimacy with all living beings, seeing them as part of the Supreme Lord's creation. Affection is the secret ingredient in accessing a deeper connection with the Supreme, and most importantly, with one another.

Our spiritual practice is grounded in a culture of selfless love and yet we often find ourselves at odds with others. How can we minimize our conflicts and bring affection back to the center? How can we make it less about being 'right' and more about the relationships?
