Biohacking your daily routine - Ryan Munsey #136
25/09/2017 Duration: 48minBiohacking what is it? Why do I bang on about biohacking What I've been up to recently and my latest obsession My mates sometimes take the mickey out of me for using the word biohacking. That's okay. I am quite easy to take the mickey out of! But Biohacking can be quite an interesting way of improving your energy, wellness, performance and athletic levels. What is biohacking? There are probably plenty of fancy explanations for what biohacking is. Let me try a simpler one. Biohacking is about tweaking your diet and lifestyle to be the best version of yourself. Here's a good article about biohacking. I've used biohacking to get healthier, focus more effectively and lots more stuff. So I wanted to do a podcast about it with this fella. A former fitness model, Ryan Munsey has created and sold a performance training facility (House of Strength), written for leading fitness publications (Men’s Fitness, T-Nation, EliteFTS) is a member of the Men’s Health Fitness Council, and spends his days as the Chief Optimizer

Why is my hair falling out? Celest Pereira #133
04/09/2017 Duration: 38minThe cool thing about functional health solutions is that sometimes they can provide you some answers when a visit to a conventional doctor leaves you scratching your head. I found that out a few years ago when I got sick, and so did my friend Celest who I've interviewed this week. This week's podcast

Movement, posture, getting naked - Aaron Alexander #132
28/08/2017 Duration: 33minI've been interested for a while in getting on a physical pain specialist on my podcast. When I spoke to back-pain expert Esther Gokhale a while back, it had a huge response and lots of people listened. So - we've brought in body expert Aaron Alexander for more. You'll love this, and you may well sort your back out while you listen. Yep, I've had problems with a dodgy back in the past too. Ever heard of Align Therapy? Aaron Alexander is awesome, and occasionally just slightly inappropriate. (You'll hear this in the first few minutes of the podcast). Also - is "sitting the new smoking"? Aaron answers the question on today's show. The link between physicality and what's going on in the mind I totally subscribe to this. I know when I'm relaxed, happy, stress-free, my body works better too. Want more of this vibe? Listen now. How getting naked helps your back Hmm, hard to explain in an email. But, as I recently discovered, getting naked can help your back pain and general wellbeing levels. Aaron's got some fasci

Ancient healing powers - Natalie Roper #129
07/08/2017 Duration: 29minFirst up, I've been spending plenty of time out in nature this summer - trying to get a bit more primal. I walked up Snowdon (the highest mountain in England and Wales) a couple of weeks ago. So many of my Zestology podcast guests talk about the importance of getting back to nature, and being a bit more primal. Having climbed Snowdon I felt the same thing. Especially with emojis to help me on my way. This week's Zestology was also recorded outside, with Ayurveda expert Natalie Roper. Thousands of years before modern medicine provided scientific evidence for the mind-body connection, the sages of India developed Ayurveda. Which it turns out can massively sort you out. Listen to the podcast for more, or for a quick link, take this 'What's Your Dosha' test now. This was a lovely podcast to record - getting slightly sunburnt at Yoga Connects Festival outside, even if I'm not sure about the ghee fast Natalie was talking about.

Overcoming adversity - Brett Moran #128
31/07/2017 Duration: 30minOver the last couple of weeks I've been to a couple of festivals in the West Country. The Tolpuddle Festival in Dorset, (shaking Jeremy Corbyn's hand possibly the highlight of that one.) And Yoga Connects festival in Glastonbury, where I was also speaking. It was my third time there, and it lived up to the other two - what an awesome weekend of fun, exercise and a few drinks too. I bumped into this fella, someone I've been meaning to interview for a long time, if only I could get hold of him for more than 5 minutes! Overcoming adversity Author Brett Moran has lived an incredible life of ups and downs. Brett's life changed forever when serving time because of a drug deal. He found himself in the prison library and stumbled across a book on meditation. The story is quite something - and it's all in the podcast. In a nutshell, listen to this podcast to find more love, joy and happiness through simple gratitude practices and living more authentically. He really does live in the present. I'm inspired to do that mo

Q&A: Carl Jung, altered states and squatty potties - Dr. Stephen Simpson #127
24/07/2017 Duration: 46minIt's Q and A time and all these topics are discussed. Different meditation techniques. Squatty potties Carl Jung's collective unconscious Ketonix breath meters The best water filters money can buy The benefits of hypnosis My new podcast idea for Fridays (please let me know your feedback on this) And many more vitality-related bits and pieces. Okay, you're totally wondering what a Squatty Potty is now aren't you. Check it out - apparently it's a way to, er, get more primal when you go to the toilet. Our ancestors squatted for centuries before the invention of the modern day toilet. In fact, the majority of the world's population still squats today! So it's perhaps not as weird as it sounds. Dr. Stephen Simpson is one of my regular Zestology guests and good friends. He is an Elite Performance Coach, and works with top professional poker players such as Chris Moorman and Liv Boeree on helping them achieve their potential in every area of their lives. Today's podcast is Dr. Steve and me answering your question

NLP and Brain Boosting - Karl Morris #126
17/07/2017 Duration: 39minAre you ready for a Brain Boost? That's the name of my friend Karl's new podcast. When I spoke to my friend Karl Morris on Zestology a while back, it got a big response. He's a leading performance coach in the world of sport and kind of a big deal (though he'd be far too modest to admit that himself). This time, he's now started a podcast himself and it's been fun chatting to him about his ideas for it. I know he'll be a huge success in the podcast world because he's so damn good at what he does, and I was honoured to be interviewed by him on his new show. So here, with kind permission of Karl, is the interview we recorded. Enjoy (and remember this link is a special day early link). And if you like Karl, you can listen to more of him on Zestology on episodes 5 and 83.

How to stop worrying about getting older - Laura Coe #125
10/07/2017 Duration: 45minI'm not going to lie, sometimes I worry about getting older. Do you? Laura Coe is an entrepreneur, podcast host, philosophy lover and certified life coach. She's a brilliant podcast guest, because she tells us in simple terms how age is just a number, and there's no need to worry about it. Hmm, sounds good. The podcast is all about energy, and feeling good as you get older is all part of that, I reckon. As you'll hear I'm sceptical... but I'm happy to admit Laura is good So who is this Laura Coe? She had a high-powered corporate career, and when I say high-powered, she was right at the top. But then something dramatic happened, and everything changed. You'll hear about that too. Laura's a repeat Zestology guest - because I know people enjoyed listening last time.

Daily Rituals - Jaret Grossman #123
26/06/2017 Duration: 44minIt's fascinating to study daily rituals of successful people. And that's one of the main themes in this podcast. Jaret Grossman is one of those sickening individuals who seems to be good at everything! And one of the reasons I loved this podcast is we violently disagreed on the subject of daily rituals. He's the co-founder of Muscle Prodigy - a company that has built a huuge following online. And he's a 3x All American Wrestler. Here's the kind of stuff he talks about. - Discover Your Life Purpose - Learn How to TAKE BACK Control of Your Mind - Become an Emotional Jedi and Master Your Emotions Rather than Allow Them to Master You - Find Out How to Do MORE with Less Time - Understand the Crucial Elements to Building a Successful Brand - Foster Deep and Impactful Relationships - Be Able to Influence People's Behavior and Decisions for the Greater Good - Earn Money in Multiple Ways and at Elevated Heights .... and of course, DAILY RITUALS! Enjoy the show.

Music and Motivation - Jono Grant #122
19/06/2017 Duration: 54minEnergy, creativity, music and motivation, and how these themes all tie together. Jono Grant is one of the world's top DJs. He and I had a caffeine-fuelled chat on music and creativity, and how he gets into the creative vibe. Above and Beyond are obviously a massive worldwide success and he also talks about the biggest gig he ever played - in front of 1 million people in Rio. He's also responsible for the music that you hear at the start of the podcast. We recorded this as part of a special Spotify series on music. If you'd like to listen to the full series head over to Zestology on Spotify. One more thing - listen out for the end of the podcast where I'm recording at the famous Morning Gloryville party.

50/50 Work Life Balance - Anna Williamson #120
05/06/2017 Duration: 39minSometimes we get so mired in stress, anxiety or wrapped up in our problems, it's hard to remember how to relax. So today I speak to one of the UK's top psychologists all about stress and balance. Anna Williamson used to be a pop band, then was one of the UK's most popular children's TV presenters. It's quite a journey from that to respected psychologist (yes, I just used the J word). She's now the resident psychologist for Big Brother and ITV's This Morning, two of the biggest shows on UK television. Join us as we discuss 'funny mind stuff'. She's had her own problems with anxiety and stress, and she's now all about balance. Anna and I met to record at a venue in Central London - possibly the noisiest hotel in the city. Somehow it doesn't sound too loud on the interview though, thanks partly to some very friendly people we met who talked sotto voce while we recorded.

The anti-guru is back - Sarah Knight #119
29/05/2017 Duration: 42minThe author of the brilliant best-selling book - The Life-Changing Magic of Not Giving a F**k. I keep seeing people reading this book all over London. It's been a huge hit for Sarah. The interview contained such amusing parts as the four categories of potential F*** giving. Then she wrote the book - Get Your Sh*t Together: How to stop worrying about what you should do so you can finish what you need to do and start doing what you want to do. Now she's moved to the Dominican Republic, recorded a viral Tedx talk, and had a crazy Zestology-inspired coincidence. All of which is good podcast topic material. Potty-mouthed Sarah Knight specialises in best-selling books with vaguely naughty words in the title. And she's decidedly anti-guru. She's perfect for Zestology.
