Synopsis

"Christmas Stories & Poems will provide you and your family over an hour of rich family entertainment. On a cold Christmas night, get all comfy by the fire and settle back with a cup of hot chocolate. Relax, and experience the Christmas holiday with a laugh, a chuckle and maybe a tear or two. When you re-discover these classics, you may find that you rediscover your soul.
Contained in this anthology are the classics, "The Gift of the Magi," by O. Henry, Little Tree," by e. e. cummings, "The Little Match Girl" by Hans Christian Anderson and an excerpt from "A Christmas Carol," by Charles Dickens.
"The Owl and the Pussycat, by Edward Lear is here. Though strictly speaking, Lear's poem is not a Christmas poem, but it does express the fun and frivolity of the season and it is included.
In addition there is the moving story "Christmas at Red Butte," by L. M. Montgomery, "Yes, Virginia…" the famous editorial by Francis Pharcellus Church and " 'Twas the Night Before Christmas," by Anonymous. This is probably the most famous Christmas poem of all time. Clement C. Moore is usually credited as its author. However, there is controversy as to who is the actual author. So here we use the credit that was given in its original publication in The Troy Sentinel newspaper in 1823.
Jennifer James, award winning SAG/AFTRA actor narrates most of the selections in this audio book. And Brad Rearden contributes his masterful reading of " 'Twas the Night Before Christmas."
We are dedicating this Christmas audio book to the brave men and women of the American military and in their honor we have included poems that were written in wartime: "Christmas Bells," by Henry Longfellow; "Wartime Christmas," by Joyce Kilmer and "Noel: Christmas Eve 1913," by Robert Bridges.
In addition, there is a story about the Battle of Trenton, "Christmas Day: 1776," by Jennifer James.
A portion of each unit sold will be donated to the USO.
