Kevin Crowley his story behind the Olympic Torch
20/07/2012 Duration: 50sKevin Crowley works a fish block man. What he doesn’t know about fish is not worth knowing. But it’s for his voluntary work that he’s been nominated to carry the Olympic torch. Kevin gives his own time – and his own fish – to help young people training at Jamie Oliver’s Fifteen restaurant. The young people there have the opportunity of a lifetime and ‘Big Kev’ plays a inspirational part in that. It’s something they appreciate which is why he’s been selected as an torch bearer in Ealing on 24 July. The photo shows Big Kev celebrating his birthday at Fifteen with some of the trainees.

Alan Naftalin - his story behind the Olympic Torch
13/07/2012 Duration: 01minSince 1984, Alan Naftalin has devoted his life to developing women's health services in Newham as a gynaecologist at Newham General Hospital. He currently suffers from myeloma, a cancer of the bone marrow, and has had continuous chemotherapy since 2007. Despite its disabling effects he has continued to work and support other cancer sufferers, his family, students, fellow doctors and to all those around him. He has worked tirelessly to help so many of Newham's women; he has delivered thousands of babies and as Director of Medical Education has inspired generations of young and not so young doctors.
